GALDEF Advisory Council member Allie Arshad was recently interviewed by the Intact Again podcast. Allie is a 27-year-old transfeminine woman who, although born intersex, was assigned male at birth and subjected to penile circumcision. She began restoring her foreskin as a teenager. Allie shares her story of growing up in a neglectful, emotionally and sexually abusive environment dominated by Catholicism, Judaism and the Muslim faith. She explains how her trans identity and experiences interact with foreskin restoration and gendered child genital cutting, and offers support to others through her non-profit organization, the Genital Autonomy Collective.
