GALDEF has begun fundraising for two vital projects this year and has set an ambitious goal of raising a combined total of $12,000 by June 30.
We’re very excited to announce that we’re moving forward with two video training modules, one for attorneys and one for potential plaintiffs.
Module #1 is designed to familiarize attorneys with the many vital legal issues surrounding male genital mutilation customs. The module will contain six to eight 10-minute videos featuring experienced attorneys discussing penile anatomy, foreskin physiology, and long-term harm experienced by circumcision sufferers, how to eviscerate health arguments and expose the “bogus diagnosis of phimosis” as medical fraud, and educate courts about bodily integrity, genital autonomy, children’s rights, and gender equality (i.e., equal protection against genital cutting for all children regardless of sex).
Module #2 will feature experienced attorneys educating potential plaintiffs about the best ways to prepare to bring a lawsuit for circumcisions done to the “standard of care.” It will consist of six to eight 10-minute videos with topics ranging from the need to understand your state’s statute of limitations and the concept of discovery, to the importance of documenting one’s harm with medical and mental health professionals, and the type of treatment you could face by the legal opposition during the course of your case.
After evaluating three bids for the project, GALDEF negotiated with the company that recorded the inaugural Intact Global conference in Portland this past March. The company was able to secure for us a filming location in an exquisite private home in Palm Springs, CA at no cost to GALDEF. Although we received a generously discounted quote, there will still be costs associated with the videographer’s filming and editing time, airfare for one of the attorneys, and initial promotion of the modules to attorneys and law schools. These costs are estimated to be $9,500.
Filming begins in July with the modules being ready by August 31. Initial plans are for the attorney training module to be placed behind a paywall accessible by private law firms and law schools for a modest fee, with funds raised through this method helping to cover the cost of further promotion of the module in selected law journals. The other module designed for plaintiffs will be available free-of-charge and/or by donation.
Those who choose to give on an automatic monthly basis during April, May and June will have their recurring donations automatically stopped by us in July after making their third donation during this special fundraising period.
Special recognition in the film credits (with donor permission) will be given to those who make either a one-time donation or cumulative monthly donations from April to June at the following levels.
“Amicus” (Friend) $500-$999 – “Veritas” (Truth-teller) $1000-$4999 – “Aequitas” (Justice-seeker) $5000+ *
[* one-time donations of $5,000 or more must be mailed by check to:

WHICH WILL YOU BE?
Three Pride Events in 2025
In 2025 GALDEF will once again spread the message about children’s genital autonomy to the sex positive, human rights aware and politically active LGBTQIA+ community. In a repeat of last year’s successful presence at these three large events, GALDEF will have booths at Pride festivals in West Hollywood, CA (May 31-June 1), Portland, OR (July 19-20) and Palm Springs, CA (Nov 7-8). Space rental for the three information booths and related expenses total around $2,500. Your gift to the “How to Sue and Win!” campaign will help make our presence possible.
